Got spiders? Natural way to get rid of them

Ok, no one wants to admit there are any type of bugs in their house, but I’ll say it…. I have spiders. Ugly black ones that live in the bathroom…. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Since Hubby really doesn’t like spiders (I won’t use the word “afraid” just in case he reads this), I am the resident spider killer.

How to naturally get rid of spiders -

How did I get rid of them?

Spiders, as well as mice and ants, don’t like the strong smell of peppermint. I simply took an empty spray bottle, this one is about 16ozs, and added a tablespoon of peppermint oil, filled the rest with water, shook the bottle and sprayed along the edge of the entire bathroom. I also sprayed inside the cabinet and linen closet. I will re-spray every 2 to 3 weeks or as needed.

If you don’t want to spray, you can also soak a cotton ball in peppermint oil, put in on a small plate or bowl and put in the area where you are seeing spiders.

Do you know another natural way to get rid of spiders? I would love to hear it!

No bugs were harmed to create this blog post – The peppermint oil doesn’t kill any bugs, it just makes them want to move out :)

    Silly question– you do a tablespoon of oil plus what? Water? Vinegar?

      Not a silly question at all! I should fix that :) Water…. put a tablespoon of peppermint oil and fill the rest of the spray bottle with water!

    Thanks for the great information.
    I have no problem with spiders in the house , but do have friends that are terrified of spiders so will share this information with them.
    Now, when it comes to mice; you will see me up on chairs going from room to room without touching the floor but then we have plenty of cats around to take care of that situation; thank goodness. :}
    Thanks again
