Our Plans

Since we are two years away from our planned moving date, I thought it was time to be more organized and keep our plans in one spot. We are working hard to get down to our 100 items each. Two years seems so far away, yet it will pass more quickly than I realize. Why two years? That is when our teenager will graduate from high school and if possible, we want her to graduate from her current school. Only God knows the real time we will move, so if He tells us to move sooner, then His will be done.

Originally our thought was to build a cabin, as time went on our plan was to build a tiny house, and today our plan is to either build a Cob or an EarthBag house. Our plans can change again, but in the meantime I’m really enjoying all the learning I’m doing about all our different options!

We currently live in PA and as much as we would love to stay in this area, there is no affordable land. Currently we are thinking of looking for land in Tennessee or Kentucky. But we will be happy where ever God provides us land. We are hoping for at least 3 acres. Some of the land requirements are – soil for growing, open land for building a house, barn, stable, and chicken coop, some type of water source (either underground or stream), trees (we are both from the north and love trees!), and a safe area.

Animals we are hoping to have – a Jersey cow, chickens, goats, a horse (for younger daughter), sheep and of course our current furfamily will come with us.
