The last 10 days

Our 10 days of cleaning out the house is over and I wish I could say we are done, but we aren’t.

We made huge progress though. The first two days hubby worked in the basement. He cleared out a huge amount of trash (it was once treasure, but sadly mold got to it) and for the first time in about 3 years I was able to go down there. Sadly hubby got sick, necessitating a trip to the doctor and for the rest of the 10 days, he was pretty limited in what he could do. We all caught a cold and spent the week sneezing, but younger daughter and I kept working.

Teenager also accomplished something in those 10 days, even though most days she did have school. She and younger daughter painted her room a beautiful lavender color called Mystic Fairy. It is a mature color and perfect for her room.

I have a wall of stuff to go out in Friday’s sale. Saturday I have company coming, so I want the sale out of the way and the stuff gone before they arrive. It is an amazing feeling to have cleared out so much. It is freeing.

I’m still working on finishing up. It will take longer than I planned, but what we were able to accomplish in 10 days was amazing.

Today I have school with younger daughter, dishes, laundry, bread to bake, apple sauce to make, and a burnt pan to save.
