The multiplying of dishes

A few months back I got rid of most of my dishes and glasses. I got tired of waking up each morning to 23 glasses in the sink, when there are just 4 people living in this house and I did the dishes the night before. You would think with just a handful of dishes, there wouldn’t be much in the sink. Recently, however, every time I walk away from the sink to do another chore, I return to discover the dishes have multiplied.

I know what you are thinking, you are thinking that people are eating while I’m doing other chores and putting their dirty dishes in the sink. Even though that is a good thought, it isn’t true, because this phenomenon occurs when I’m the only one home. I have thought about Gremlins living in the basement, but a thorough investigation has found that there are no creatures living down there.

My only conclusion is that dishes multiply when left in water. It has been known for years that coat hangers, when left in a dark closet, multiply faster than rabbits. And that small toys that hurt your feet when stepped on multiply while you are sleeping, so it is about time we knew the truth about dishes.

I’m off to do another load, this post probably allowed them time for the 4 dishes in there to create 12 more!
